Stand and immersion blenders

30 April 2018

Vitamix, Blendtec, Ninja, Oster… There are so many models and companies in the world of benders and mixing arms that it becomes dizzying! As I mentioned in the “live”, the goal is not to buy the biggest and the most expensive, but to find the one that will do the job according to your needs.

I love my Vitamix, but this model will be too much for most cooks. In this article, I will list the best models and, above all, for what purpose they really are made!

Let’s start by reviewing mine.

VITAMIX 7500 – 629$ http://amzn.to/2CLyq0J

The best. A 2.2 HP engine with a solid 7 year warranty. The container holds up to 2 liters of liquid and is relatively easy to wash. You cooked your vegetables for a soup and they are made cold? No problem. The Vitamix 7500 will not only mash everything, but also bring your soup to the perfect temperature to serve due to its powerful engine and the friction of its blades.

Thanks to the strength of its engine, there is not much that this mixer can not puree. Frozen fruits and nuts will not be a problem. This mixer is for serious cooks and professionals who are not afraid to invest.

Positive points :

  • Very powerful engine
  • Very easy to use
  • Simple and effective design

Negative points :

  • Take enough space
  • Weighs 12.5 lbs!
  • Quite noisy

Here are the other models I suggest :

___

OSTER 12 SPEED / STAINLESS STEEL – $ 60 http://amzn.to/2tc7WWM

A very good basic mixer. 450W of power and the container of 6 cups is in glass. Blade powerful enough to grind ice and frozen fruit. Noisy, but effective.

OSTER PRO 1200 PLUS – 100$ http://amzn.to/2GYbez4

The step above. 6 glass cups container which goes in the dishwasher. 7 speeds including 3 preprogrammed modes. A good professional level mixer at reasonable price. 900W motor force. Enough to reduce your cell to puree, but I do not suggest it. It is even sold with a smoothie cup to go.

NINJA NJ600WMC PROFESSIONNEL – 109$ http://amzn.to/2CVHccx

NINJA mixers have a good rating these days. This model has 6 blades (!) with a motor of 1100W. The 9-cup container is made of plastic and this NINJA is even offered with several other accessories such as smoothie cup to go. One year warranty.

BLENDTEC CLASSIC – 370$ http://amzn.to/2CVve2I

At this price, it is clearly a professional model. The container is square in shape, allowing easy pouring off its contents. Whether it’s making ice cream or even reducing grains into flour, this machine will do the job. If you often make smoothies with ice cubes, this beast is for you. Expensive, but a good long-term investment.

BLENDTEC DESIGNER SERIES – 738$ http://amzn.to/2CTqMSa

This mixer with a 1560W motor is for commercial use. Besides, it is the direct competitor of my Vitamix. Illuminated control surface, 100 possible different speeds and 6 preprogrammed modes. Very modern design. A turnover with that?

NINJA NUTRI PRO BLENDER BL450C – 100$ http://amzn.to/2CVxuqI

This one is mainly for making luxury smoothies. Relatively affordable for its power and efficient blades. Recommended if you’re a fan of smoothies with a legendary texture. Comes even with a book that contains 30 recipes.

Immersion blenders

In my opinion, a hand mixer is VERY useful in a kitchen, but will be used as a complement. It is perfect for reducing hot soup in the cooking pan, but will not be able to make a cool drink with lemon, ginger and ice cream. You know what I mean? Once again, there is a BUNCH on the market.

Here are the ones I suggest :

___

PROCTOR-SILEX 59738 – $ 25 http://amzn.to/2tcUGB9

A model very similar to mine, which is basic. 150W motor, 2 speeds and 5 feet wire. Convenient to reduce a soup to puree while taking a bath. Its plastic design will be safe for your precious pans. Stainless steel blade.

A powerful model with its 200W motor. Beautiful design in brushed chrome that goes in the dishwasher. 2 speeds for more fun.

___

CUISINART CSB-85C – 73$ http://amzn.to/2F9Ovj5

What I like about this hand blender is that it is not only ultra powerful (300W motor), but it is also sold with accessories that allows you to beat or even chop food. Convenient to save space! Narrow design to access to small containers.
