My favorite sharp objets10 February 2018
As promised in my last Facebook LIVE, here is a recap of my favorite sharp objects ! I have included the links to their Amazon pages. Please support me by buying products using the provided links !
KIKUICHI DAMASCUS 210mm – 380$ (http://amzn.to/2sjPjQj)
My chef’s knife, my work beast, my right arm. The knife I use most often in the kitchen. It is long, robust and mostly well balanced. Comfortable in the hand with a good heel, it is the ideal companion if you cook often and a lot! Its Japanese steel is very resistant and it keeps its sharpness for a long period. And coming from a cook like me who uses it every day, that means it’s worth it! Its hammered steel helps that vegetables do not stick on the blade. It does not work miracles, but it helps.
Here are more knives that I suggest :
Ephram Professional 8 inch Chef Knife – 40$ (http://amzn.to/2H4SAWX)
This knife is very affordable and arrives sharp as hell. It is balanced and comfortable in the hand.
Victorinox Fibrox 8-Inch Chef’s Knife – 44$ (http://amzn.to/2EgVZo4)
This Victorinox is quite impressive, especially considering its very low price. Ultra light, it will satisfy you in your craziest creations. The blade is a bit thin, but it has very good value for its price.
Shun 6720C Wasabi 8-Inch Chef’s Knife – 45$ (http://amzn.to/2G0krGn)
An affordable SHUN that will give you a taste of professionals knives.
Shun DM0706 8-Inch Classic Chef’s Knife – 180$ (http://amzn.to/2BjH49H)
For the more serious cooks, this SHUN is a luxury knife. It is made of 32 layers of stainless steel and it even goes in the dishwasher.
Pairing knife :
Opinel 112 Natural Varnished Handle Kitchen Paring Knife – 25$ (http://amzn.to/2CbW5HG)
I could not live without my Opinel N° 112. The perfect pairing knife for precise preparation. Ultra-light beech handle and 10 cm stainless steel blade. I swear to God, you will not regret it!
Bread knives :
It seems like the FOREVER SHARP is not available anymore… Here are the ones I suggest instead :
Mercer Culinary 10-Inch Wide Bread Knife – 29$ (http://amzn.to/2EVW3qp)
This knife is affordable and will cut all your breads, even the toughest ones with a thick crust !
Wusthof Gourmet 8-Inch Serrated Bread Knife – 57$ (http://amzn.to/2EhdW5X)
A German knife with a thin blade that will surprise you. Personally, I love when blades are thin when I need to cut bread. I find it very convenient !
Vegetable peelers :
Kuhn Rikon Original 4-Inch Swiss Peeler – 6$ (http://amzn.to/2slBzVe)
Simple and efficient. As soon as you’ll try this type of peelers, you’ll fall in love.
OXO Good Grips Y Peeler – 12$ (http://amzn.to/2ErZaZj)
A model with a better handle and ergonomic design. Don’t go crazy over a vegetable peeler but if you need to peel a bunch of potatoes, you’ll understand why and you’ll thank me later.
Microplane premium zester – 19$ (http://amzn.to/2EejtKi)
Simply the best zester / grater I have ever owned. Light and ultra-sharp. Ask my fingers !!!
Sharpening steel :
Winco Sharpening Steel, 12-Inch, 30.5 cm – 14$ (http://amzn.to/2BkokHi)

Pierre à aiguiser :
BearMoo Sharpening Stone ,2-IN-1 Whetstone,1000 / 4000 Grit Combination – 28$ (http://amzn.to/2EfhHIT)
