Goat cheese croutons

Preparation :5 min Cooking :12 min
Difficulty :easy
Servings :10 croutons

A highly drinkable white Bordeaux that is fresh, surrounded by citrus and freshly cut herbs… Summer salad mode…Nothing more comforting than goat cheese croutons while enjoying some hot soup or a nice grilled piece of meat. Put that in your mouth and let me know what you think!

Ingredients

  • 10 slices of bread baguette about 1.5cm thick
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • Salt and ground pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon herbs of Provence
  • 1 pack (150g) goat cheese, unripened

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven at 400°F.
  • In a bowl, combine the oil with the herbs of Provence. Season with salt and pepper then stir well. Place the bread on a cooking pan and baste them with the oil mix on both sides.
  • Cut the goat cheese in slices and place on the croutons.
  • Put in the oven and cook for about 10-12 minutes or until the croutons are lightly golden!

Our wine stewards suggest

+- 15$ A.de Luze, Fleur

A highly drinkable white Bordeaux that is fresh, surrounded by citrus and freshly cut grass… In summer salad mode.

+- 30$ Château St Jean Fumé Blanc 2013

Fumé blanc is just another term to say sauvignon blanc. Both wines are excellent but very similar even though they are separated by a huge ocean! Want to do a tasting comparison?

Bière de Balcon, L'Espace public

This acidulous beer with raspberry flavor will emphasize the acid taste of goat cheese and bring a fruity taste at the same time. Raspberries and goat cheese will be harmonized like a raspberry vinegar.
