Tips & Tricks for the Ultimate Maple Syrup Dumplings with Réduit à l’érable LÉO 🍁🔥

Get the syrup just right – The syrup is the heart of this recipe, so balance it well!

  • If you prefer a lighter, less sweet syrup, add a bit more water.
  • For a bolder, richer syrup, increase the amount of Réduit à l’érable LÉO for extra depth and aroma.

Don’t overmix the dough! – Once you add the milk and maple reduction, mix just enough to moisten the dry ingredients. Overmixing = dense, heavy dumplings. Keep it light and airy!

Fluffy, pillowy dumplings – Want that soft, melt-in-your-mouth texture?

  • Make sure your baking powder is fresh—old baking powder won’t make the dumplings rise properly.
  • Let the dough rest for 5 minutes before dropping it into the syrup for a fluffier texture.

How to drop the dough in the syrup properly

  • Gently drop spoonfuls of dough into the simmering syrup—don’t press them down!
  • They’ll naturally puff up as they absorb the syrup.

Let the dumplings soak up all that maple goodness
🔥 Spoon the syrup over them during cooking to make them even more flavorful.
Don’t lift the lid too often—the steam helps them rise and stay soft!

The secret to extra melt-in-your-mouth texture – Swap ¼ cup of all-purpose flour for pastry flour to make the dumplings even lighter.

Want to take them up a notch? Add these extras!
🥜 Toasted pecans – A little crunch makes a big difference.
🥃 A splash of whisky or rum – For an extra depth of flavor.
🌿 A pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg – Adds warmth and spice to the syrup.

Storage & Reheating
❄️ Not recommended for freezing – The texture will get too mushy.
🔥 Reheat in the microwave with a little extra syrup to keep them soft and moist.

With these tips, your Maple Syrup Dumplings with Réduit à l’érable LÉO will be next-level delicious! Serve them with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, drizzle extra syrup on top, and get ready for a dessert that’s downright irresistible. 🤤🔥🍁
