Ingredients
- 1 small yellow onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, finely chopped
- Olive oil (for cooking)
- 800g medium-lean ground beef
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground savory
- 1/2 tsp. ground sage
- 1/2 tsp. ground thyme
- 1 tsp. salt
- 150g cheese curds, chopped
- 1/3 cup DORA fruit ketchup
- Pepper to taste
Preparation
- In a frying pan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sauté onion and garlic for 3-4 minutes, then remove from heat.
- In a large bowl, place ground beef, onion and garlic mixture, spices, salt, cheese curds, fruit ketchup and pepper to taste. Mix with your hands until smooth.
- Shape into keftas (7-8 flat skewers), taking care not to make them too large to prevent them from breaking under the weight of the meat.
- Preheat the BBQ to maximum power and lay out baking sheets. Cook for 5-6 minutes on each side. Serve with fruit ketchup.
Side :
- Arugula and green onion salad, seasoned with olive oil and white balsamic vinegar.
