✅ Tips & Tricks for an Even Fresher Chamomile & Lavender Cucumber Sour!

🥒 Keep that cucumber crisp
• Use firm, organic English cucumbers—ideally straight from the fridge for max freshness.

🌸 Homemade floral syrup
• The chamomile + lavender combo is magic. Taste your syrup before using it: it should be balanced, not too sweet or overpowering.
• If the lavender is strong, start with less and adjust to taste.

🍋 Always use fresh lemon juice
• Nothing beats freshly squeezed lemon juice to balance out the floral sweetness.

💨 For that perfect foam
• Use an egg white or a vegan foamer to get that silky, show-stopping top.

🎀 Garnish like a pro
• A thin cucumber ribbon, an edible flower, or a sprig of dried lavender makes this cocktail totally Instagram-worthy.

Preparation

  • In a small saucepan, combine water, sugar, lavender, and the chamomile tea bag. Bring to a boil, then reduce to a low simmer and cook for 15 minutes. Remove from heat, strain, and let cool completely.
  • In a shaker, add the gin, verjus (or lemon juice), floral syrup, and egg white (or vegan foamer). Add ice and shake vigorously to create a smooth, creamy foam.
  • Double strain into a chilled coupe or old fashioned glass. Garnish with edible flowers if you’re feeling extra Instagrammable. 💐
Frequently asked questions

Yes, but the flavor won’t be as refined. Homemade floral syrup lets you control the balance of lavender and chamomile. If you use a store-bought version, start with a small amount and adjust to taste.

Absolutely! Just replace the gin with a non-alcoholic gin or a floral tonic water. You’ll still get all the freshness and calming vibes of the original cocktail.

No problem! A Mason jar with a tight lid works great. Shake it well and strain using a small fine-mesh sieve.
