  • 2 tbsp (30 ml) sweet chili sauce (Thai Kitchen)
  • 2 tbsp (30 ml) extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tbsp (15 ml) soy sauce
  • 1 tsp (5 ml) fresh ginger grated with Microplane
  • 1 tsp (5 ml) white sesame seeds
  • 1 garlic clove, chopped very finely
  • 1 tbsp (15 ml) butter
  • 1⅓ lb (600 g) green beans
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper

Preparation

  • In a small bowl, whisk together the sweet chili sauce, olive oil, soy sauce, grated ginger, sesame seeds and garlic. Season generously with salt and pepper. Set aside.
  • In a large non-stick skillet over medium heat, melt the butter.
  • Add the green beans and cook 3 to 4 minutes, stirring regularly to sauté them evenly in the butter.
  • Pour the sauce over the green beans and continue cooking 3 to 4 minutes, stirring constantly, until the green beans are cooked but still crisp under the tooth and well coated with caramelized sauce.
  • Serve immediately, while still hot.
