Chocolate bacon fudge

  • 10 slices of bacon
  • 3 cups (750 ml) high-quality semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 can (300 ml) sweetened condensed milk (Eagle Brand recommended)
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) pure vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch sea salt

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper, place the bacon slices on top, and bake for about 25 minutes, until crispy. Let cool, then chop into small pieces.
  • In a saucepan over low heat, melt the chocolate, butter, and sweetened condensed milk, stirring occasionally. Keep the heat low to prevent burning the chocolate.
  • Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla, salt, and chopped bacon until fully combined.
  • Pour the mixture into an 8×8-inch (20×20 cm) baking pan lined with parchment paper. Smooth the top and refrigerate for at least 3 hours before cutting into squares.
