Ingredients

  • 550g beef strip loin steak, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • Olive oil
  • 4 cup broccoli cut into small florets
  • 227g white mushrooms, cut into 4
  • 5 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 255g ramen noodles, cooked
  • Salt and pepper from the mill

Ingredients for the sauce

  • 1/2 cup reduced-sodium soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1/2 teaspoon grilled sesame oil
  • Salt and pepper from the mill

Preparation

  • In a large bowl, add beef followed by cornstarch. Season with salt, pepper and toss to coat. Set aside.
  • In a bowl, add the ingredients for the sauce and whisk to break up the starch. Season with salt and pepper. Set aside.
  • In a large skillet over high heat, add 3 tablespoons olive oil followed by beef. Cook stirring for 3 to 4 minutes. Add oil as needed. Pour into a bowl and set aside.
  • In the same skillet over medium heat, add 3 tablespoons olive oil followed by broccoli, mushrooms, garlic and ginger. Cook for 3 to 4 minutes, stirring. Season with salt and pepper. Add oil as needed.
  • Add beef broth and cook for 5 to 6 minutes, stirring, until broccoli is tender.
  • Add the beef and sauce then toss. Cook for 2 minutes, stirring, to thicken the sauce.
  • Add the noodles, toss and serve immediately!
