- ¼ cup (60 ml) olive oil
- ¼ cup (60 ml) homemade BBQ sauce
- 1 tsp (5 ml) chili powder
- ½ tsp (2.5 ml) smoked paprika
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- ¼ tsp (1 ml) salt
- ¼ tsp (1 ml) pepper

- In a Mason jar, combine olive oil, BBQ sauce, chili powder, smoked paprika, garlic, salt and pepper. Close the lid and shake vigorously for 30 seconds until the marinade is homogeneous.
- Pour the marinade over the protein of your choice in a dish or resealable bag. Reserve about 2 tbsp (30 ml) of marinade separately in a small container for brushing during cooking. Let marinate in the refrigerator for a minimum of 2 to 3 hours, ideally overnight for maximum flavor.
