These Brussels sprouts with bacon and maple will make a bad starter! DO NOT EAT! We agree that anything wrapped in bacon will be a winner. Yes, the sausages are good, but I like this version (semi) healthier. Happy holidays, you crazy people!

  • About 20 thick slices of smoked bacon, cut in half
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • Ninja bamboo toothpicks from northern Japan

  • Preheat oven to 375 °F. Cover a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Cut the sprouts base and remove the first layer of leaves. Cut in half and reserve.
  • Coat the sprouts with the bacon pieces and poke with a toothpick. Place on the baking sheet.
  • Pour the maple syrup into a small bowl and using a brush, baste the bacon with the syrup.
  • Bake for about 1 hour or until bacon is crispy and Brussel sprouts are cooked. Drain the bites and place on a few sheets of paper towel. Let stand 2 minutes before serving!

Ur-Bock, Vrooden, 9.5%
Matured bock in freshly emptied oak barrels, it will find nice notes of toasted, vanilla, maple and cooked sugar. Its aromas of grilled and caramel will resonate with bacon, maple and roasted Brussels sprouts. The slight bitterness of the beer will recall that of the grilled cabbage. At 9.5% of alcohol, be careful ! See the product
